Molten salt bath is commonly used in industrial cleaning processes especially in the protection of some essential parts prior to the general cleaning of machine or equipment parts. Molten salt is usually used in cleaning the layers which oil can cause molecular adhesion of coatings. Molten salt must be used to clean metal surfaces before electroplating them. Molten salt bath is used in form of several ways including; electro-cleaning, detergent cleaning, solvent cleaning, electrolysis, and alkaline electro-cleaning.

Molten salt bath is also used in metal surface and component part degreasing, and purifying metals. Mass sizes of some metals such as big shafts of ships cannot be clean manually, so also are some jammed chips, threaded holes in some metal parts. The only way one can get access and clean these parts is to make use of molten salt bath. Contaminants or soil usually cover the parts of metals after several long hours of work, these contaminants which include grease or oil, dusts and particles cannot be easily removed by mere detergents and water except by chemically potent molten bath salts.

Molten salt bath contains Potassium and Calcium Cyanides which have been partially dissolved in solvents usually water at a controlled temperature and heating. In Electrolytic coating of metals for instance, the metal to be coated is placed in a solution of molten salt and when the molten salt bath is heated, there would be an exchange of positive and negative ions within the electrolytic medium and from one electrode to the other. The metallic ions are deposited on the metal, thus forming a permanent coat on it. This process could be very fast or prolonged depending on the functioning capacity of the electrodes, the size and features of the metals to be coated, and the amount of heat supplied into the electrolyte.

Molten bath salt could be used at home for body cleaning, but it should have been perfectly diluted to a recommended level that will not cause damage to the skin. In this case, the molten salt bath would have been extracted from its initial stage and diluted with more water after which the salt is extracted. Molten salt bath extract have the potency to detox the body and rejuvenate the skin .It also replenish dead cells and tissues. Molten salt bath extract is very helpful in treating some skin disorders and diseases such as Psoriasis, Arthritis, skin itching and Eczema.

Molten salt bath works by allowing an exchange between the skin and the salt bath water through Osmotic effects and this will in turn ensure that toxic materials in the body are exchange with mineral elements in the molten salt bath giving you a lasting healthy body.
