An Italian perfumer produced world’s first eau de cologne. This had alcohol base and scent in it to give the fragrance. The after shave is a lotion or the cream or the gel that men use after the shaving is over. These after shave products contain alcohol as anti bacterial agent. It contains some scent to give good fragrance after the shaving is over. In the starting days of eau de cologne they were extensively used as after shave lotions. Thus old spice cologne was used as after shave from lot many years. Now a day’s cologne is used as the generic word. There are better categorizations of eau de cologne and after shave products.

The first old spice product was a fragrance for women and was introduced in1937. In the next year the men’s fragrance was introduced by old spice. The Shulton Company, manufacturing old spice cologne products, used colonial theme as the marketing strategy. There are three lines of products of old spice cologne products. High endurance is one old spice cologne line. This is promoted as the basic grooming products line. There are scents, after shave, deodorant, and other products in this old spice cologne line. The next line of old spice cologne products is called as original. This line of old spice contains all the original products of old spice. This line does contain deodorant stick, body wash, after shave and other products. The third line of old spice cologne products is called as ‘red zone’. This is higher end product. There are various fragrances available in different lines of old spice cologne products.

If international consumers are concerned, they were introduced to the world of colognes by the old spice cologne products only. All over the world people from old generations know cologne products as old spice cologne only.
