Reduce Intake Of Caffeinated Drink



Stretch marks are the fine lines or scars on the skin and can be the worst nightmare for anybody. But appearance of stretch marks depends on the elasticity of the skin. It can also be a matter of genetics. If mother or sister got stretch marks during their pregnancy, then it is more likely to get that. However, it will depend on how fast the skin gets stretched.

Cause of stretch marks

Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body where skin is stretched or overstretched. The normal production of collagen gets disrupted and as a result stretch marks appear on the body. They are most likely to appear in the places where fat is stored like the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, thighs and buttocks. These marks are not harmful but these are simply cosmetic issue and needs to be treated accordingly.

Though stretch marks are common in girls and women, men get stretch marks too. Obese people, bodybuilders and people who use steroid-containing skin cream can get stretch marks as well.

Finding solution by reducing caffeine

There is no permanent solution of stretch marks. However, it can be reduced their appearance by not gaining too much weight and with proper preventive measures. A diet rich in zinc, vitamins A, D, & C, and protein can help improve skin’s quality and prevent stretch marks. It is also important to drink plenty of water, at least 8 to 10 glasses a day and minimum caffeine. Reduce the amount of tea, coffee, and soda. Adequate water intake will make the skin soft and pliable which will prevent it from tearing and causing stretch marks. Caffeine is a popular drug and one that many people take without always knowing its bad affect if taken in high quantity regularly. Caffeine is absorbed quickly into the body and passes into the brain. Caffeine remains in the body for many hours before being excreted through urination and is known to increase blood pressure short term. Blood pressure is usually affected when caffeine is taken in excessive quantities or in people who are very sensitive to it and can be the cause for stretch marks too. Pregnant women are advised to reduce intake of caffeine to 300mg a day, that is 2 to 4 caffeinated drinks a day, depending on a drink’s caffeine content to get rid of stretch marks in future.
