In 2007, Vera Wang entered into collaboration with Kohl’s to launch an exclusive line of products through Kohl’s stores. This collection was named Simply Vera Vera Wang. The idea was to make Vera Wang lines available to the masses at affordable prices while preserving the basic essence of the Vera Wang design intact.

Simply Vera Vera Wang is a unique collection of fashionable, edgy, chic and versatile items. Each of these products is fun, whimsical and feminine. They are a play with colors. Bold use of prints, defiant usage of colors, being simple yet be very sophisticated and plush is something which Vera Wang does very well. Through Simply Vera, Vera Wang has again proved her prowess in being able to bring such apparent contradictions to converge to create an exquisite line of products. Vera Wang’s association with Kohl’s has been viewed very critically by experts. Some believed that it was an excellent opportunity for Vera Wang to reach the masses by making an affordable line of products. However, other have expresses very contradictory views. Many believed that Simply Vera would damage the brand equity that Vera Wang entertains. They feel that the premium luxury image of Vera Wang would be lost. However, Simply Vera is a part of Vera Wang’s strategy to attract the young affluent who demand more from life. Whether it will prove to be a great marketing endeavor or mean doom for the Vera Wang brand, only time will tell.
